My Country

Do you have what it takes to build a village? How about a country? Find out with My Country, a challenging game that will have you developing industries and transportation infrastructures, hiring employees, eliminating ecological threats, and controlling energy use as you build your village into a thriving country.

You have $650,000 in starting capital and some help from Mary, the mayor of a neighboring country. Choose your head office building and you're reading to start the real business of building your empire…which, at this point, is just a small village. Not to worry. All great things were once small things.

Grab a Shovel and Start Building

You may not move any dirt yourself, but you'll hire people who do. When you get to that stage, you can view a portfolio of professionals for hire including realtors, building managers, factory workers, gardeners, teachers, and many more.

On the way to building your economic superpower, why not start by creating a taxi cab company. Drag your finger to the location where you want a taxi stand, initiate contracts, see how many electrical units are required, and be sure to note how much all of it will cost. Successfully completing the building of your taxi stand (and cutting the ribbon) brings you to Level 2.

Each level unlocks new improvements and building opportunities so there is no lack of work. You'll need to hire taxi drivers to work in your new taxi stand, for example. They want to live in your country too and they need housing.

There's a bit involved in building a taxi cab company, let alone a country. So far so good but you need to keep going if you want to turn your small city into a well-governed country. So while you wait for the taxi stand contract to finalize, why not move on to a new venture, like finding a small office building to invest in. As with the taxi stand, you can see all the vital information on the building before you take the leap including height, territory, contract type, and of course your balance.

While it may be reassuring that even Rome wasn't built in a day, this country-building business can get overwhelming at times. Funding shouldn't be a problem, though. If you run out of money, you can buy Game Dollars and CountryBucks.

Your hard work is paying off as you progress from a small village to a large village, a regional center, a young city, and so on. Still, there is just a smidge left to do. Upgrade that business building to increase its profitability, build a mini windmill to increase energy production, develop industries, buy vehicles to transport the goods you produce, send a warehouse, create tarmac road and sidewalks and countryside roads, manage ecology and energy use by building power stations and parks, and establish a bus transit network. And don't forget landscaping: build canals, create lakes, plant trees, and pave country roads. No one said building a country would be easy.

A truly great country needs great people so why not invite friends to join you via Facebook and Twitter. You can also take a screenshot of your country and publish it to Facebook. While your country will likely benefit from the publicity offered by these options, the decision is entirely up to you. It is, after all, your country.
